Guest guest
Here's a general rule Do a " neck check. " If your symptoms are all located " above the neck " then you can exercise at a reduced intensity. On the other hand, if your " neck check " reveals symptoms " below the neck " like muscle aches, chills, diarrhea, vomiting or a fever over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, you should skip your workouts until your " below the neck " symptoms subside. Exercise may temporarily clear a stuffed-up head when you have a cold. If you feel really lousy, then take a day off. The cold will have to run its course and you can treat the symptoms. This morning I felt like crap and missed my workout. I dont want to miss tomorrow. Any suggestions on a cold remedy? > > Also, should I work out tomorrow if I still feel crappy? What are the rules about working out when you are sick. I certainly dont want to make my gym mates sick, but I sure hate to miss a workout. > > Thoughts?? Guest guest
I don't do this, but we have a dental pic that Hugh bought an attachment called a nasal irrigator. This is great if you have a sinus infection to get the gunk out and helps get rid of the sinus infection. You use a saline solution in the tank and stick the hose in your nostril and turn it on. Believe it or not, this treatment is recommended by doctors. Andy > How on earth does one rinse the sinuses? > > > Brett > davis5@... Guest guest
As gross as it sounds, it does work. I bought something called SinuCleanse, I think at Walgreens, a year or so ago. It has a cute little " tea " (neti) pot and some packets. You can buy more packets... or make your own mix. It is VERY nice to be able to breathe in the winter. But if I use it daily, I get a bit of a nosebleed from drying them out too much - but that probably doesn't happen to everybody.
