Guest guest
I am happy to report that Brendon's success with the Houston enzymes has been extraordinary! Brendon is 31 months old and was diagnosed ASD 7/31/01. We started the GF/CF diet 8/1/01 and are continuing with it currently. Brendon is also VERY phenol sensitive - causes almost immediate tantruming with biting and pinching following minutes behind. We started with both enzymes 11/15/01. We jumped in with both feet, and gave a full capsule of both with all 3 meals, and have since added same to snack. What a change there has been in Brendon's life, and ours! -has started using sentences (Mom is off of work, Dad is at work, Uncle go home, Mom is hot, I want...) -Vocabulary is over 100 words (last definitive count was 9/01 w/ 32) -WANTS to snuggle -asks to watch " big boy " movies (The Rescuers and Milo and Otis) as opposed to Baby Einstein and Baby Bee Smart 100% before. -stating opinion (Me- " We are going to the store then home. " B- " No,Go Home! " or " No cookie " , " No sandwich " both of which are normally big favorites) -Potty Training!!!! Need I say more? -Started trying to dress/undress self, only when made to try previuosly. -Intersted in helping feed little brother, and " tells him " when he;s heading for a " no-no " (10m and NOT B's favorite person) -Spontaneous Hello's and good-Bye's -Answers the telephone ocassionally (albeit not appropriately, but he was never even interested in the phone before!) -Attempting to say his name -OFF OF MELATONIN COMPLETELY W/ NO REGRETS BY MOTHER!!!!!!!!!(I am a little excited about this one dose was 2-3 mg or a WWF wrestling match would be guaranteed nightly!) -Brushing teeth, not just sucking water off of toothbrush. -Out of high chair 100%, of off sippy cups 95% -My child is happy in the Morning! My child is happy at night! My former wrestling superstar walks himself to bed at night! I am sure there is more, but I feel like I am starting to brag on him (which he deserves), I just want everyone who is considering trying the enzymes to KNOW what it has done for us in the last 3 WEEKS! I also want to thank Devin for these enzymes, and and Dana and Neva(YEEHaw!) and everyone else who regularly posts for all of the insight and never ending info. I have learned more about helping my son on this list than from my neuro and pedi combined! (Compliment to you ALL, not MD bashing!) " Where there is great love, there are always miracles. " Willa Cather I keep this posted on my computer and think about it every day. Hugs to you all! , mother to Brendon 31m ASD, and Aidon 10m NT
