Guest guest
I'm participating in a " Phase 1, Single-dose Trial of Hepapoietin (HPO), the Recombinant Form of Hepaptocyte Growth Factor, In patients with Chronic Liver Failure. Has anyone heard of this drug? It is supposed to stimulate the growth of new liver cells; the HPO is a liver growth factor that is normally produced in the body. The drug is/has been tested on rats, rabbits, and monkeys and now humans. So far there are no reported toxicity problems with the drug -- even at 400 times necessary to show 'biologic' activity. I have began to surf the web and find out something about the company that is making this drug. So far haven't been able to find out much. The company name is SnowBrand Pharmaceutical (Japanese, Canadian, or ??). I'm just a 'lurker' on the liver lists, but I thought everyone should be aware of this drug test. thanx Marilyn
