Guest guest
Happy Holidays Everyone! Just wanted to share our newest recipe, for a Goat’s Milk lotion that incorporates Allantoin, Emulsifying Conditioner, and Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein. We love it! And what a nice Christmas Gift it will make! Healing Goat’s Milk Lotion AKA “Dream Cream” This fabulous skin loving lotion or cream uses our Meyenberg Powdered Goat’s Milk as a base. It is important to heat the milk to 170 degrees and hold at this temp for 15 to 20 minutes to ensure the milk has no bacteria. Then your preservative will keep it preserved just fine. Goat's Milk is a rejuvenator and a moisturizer when used on the skin. The caprylic acid it contains is responsible for it's low pH. This helps the skin maintain it's natural balance, making it less vulnerable to bacterial invasion. Try this recipe to learn the technique of making milk based lotions. Then try converting your favorite lotion recipe! Ingredients: Water 375 grams Goat Milk Powder 40 grams Glycerin 25 grams Shea Butter 35 grams Jojoba Oil 10 Grams Emulsifying Conditioner 25 grams E-Wax NF 15 grams Hydro Wheat 10 grams Allantoin .25 gram LiquaPar PE 5 grams Fragrance Of Choice (5 grams or to your preference). Mix the Powdered Goat’s Milk with some of the water, then incorporate the Milk into the rest of the water. Add Glycerin and mix well. Heat this milk mixture to 170 degrees and hold for 20 minutes being careful to not boil or over heat and burn the milk. Then mix in the Allantoin. In another container melt Shea Butter and Jojoba. Add Emulsifying Conditioner and E-Wax NF and heat to 160 or hot enough to completely melt everything together. Mix the oil phase and water phase together and continue mixing. When mixture is cooled to 110 degrees, add Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Preservative, and Fragrance. Mix well and you are ready to package. Remember, you can change the butters and oils to whatever you have on hand or that you prefer. This is just a place to start to create your own unique product.
