Thanks for the information. It was good news. Good luck to

you. Happy Holidays.

Judy,

I have psc and am in the process of considering a living donor...Kate, my

angel, has gone through the first part of the eval, and her primary care

doc has given her stamp of approval. Now, it will be up to New

England Med to tell us what other tests and procedures she'll have to go

through on their end. As I understand it, they will take a portion

of Kate's bile duct as well as half of her liver, then they'll attach my

intestines to the bile duct she donated with the liver. We'll see

where it goes from here. Kate is a marriage and family therapist

and a former student of mine. She and another former student,

Wendell, have both offered to consider being living donors. Others

also offered, but were not good matches. I'll keep you and the list

informed about the process.

Gracie and Ed have also talked to New England Med about the living donor

option. (Ed has PSC, and Gracie is his wife). Perhaps they

can share their experience with you also.
