Guest guest
Has anyone had experience with mass retailers, related to their requirements for size & weight requirements of packers (inner boxes distributed to the stores) and cases (that ship to the central distr. center? Insights appreciated. Thank you, Sherry

However, my partner, who wholesales to large retailers, recently received the following specs from one of them. Perhaps this will give you some idea: Size of pallet must not exceed 48 " Height of pallet must not exceed 36 " Weight of pallet must not exceed 800 lbs. All pallets must be shrink- wrapped All cases on pallet must have labels facing out Quantity in each case must be clearly marked on the outside of each box <snip> Small items (such as jewelry and magnets, etc.) need to be bagged and marked by store location and then placed in a larger box for delivery <snip> There's a lot more, but it does not pertain directly to size/weight--- they are more like the last four, above. ~Olga

Guest guest
Olga, Thank you. Moving into new territory here and your info is very helpful. You're right, from another source, I find that there is no set weight/dimension for the packers and shippers - though shippers (cases) should probably not exceed about 40# each. With your info we can make a judgement about cases per skid. Merci beaucoup!
