Guest guest
Hi, I mentioned the 6 week sabbatical I had taken from cardio while my construction activities were underway... Right? Well, I just got back on the old exercycle at lunch time today and... OMG! It felt more like a 6 year sabbatical! I can't believe I used to do that all the time. Actually, I couldn't perform my former " normal " effort and had to back down to what I would have considered a light to moderate effort just 6 weeks ago. And that was horrible! YOUSA!!! I didn't get to the HIIT / 20 MAS as the resistance, even though LESS THAN 75% of my settings just 6 weeks ago, was far too difficult to push that hard. Wow! What kind of decline in ability in only 6 weeks, and that was with other efforts being performed in lieu of the cardio. Even without the first 20 min of HIIT at the higher resistance, I still hit over 1,100 calories on my Polar monitor. My average heart rate for the moderate 60 minute effort was 140. ...Slightly more than it was when performing a much more difficult spin just 6 weeks ago. My message to all BFL'ers... DO NOT STOP THE EFFORTS. It takes a WHOLE lot of effort to get that ball rolling again. And for the correction... I think I mentioned in a recent prior post that I'll be 48 years young next month. I suppose it's the precursor to old age setting in, but, I will only be 47, not 48. ...I'll have a whole 'nother year to get to 48. Yeah!!! Now for my healthy lunch. Bye. -- Remember...
