why does Ibuprofin = calm?

Hi all, my son keeps saying his head hurts so I have been giving him Ibuprofin,

and he stays nice and calm, when it wears off he gets OCD and agitated again.

does that mean inflamation? its so nice when he is calm and not obsessing.
