Maybe you did break it in a sledding accident as a child, did you have it x-rayed at the time? Before I had detethering surgery, I had pain in my spine above my tail bone, and it felt like it was crawling with bugs at night when I was trying to go to sleep, but not everyone with tethered cord has the same symptoms. You should tell your doctor about the pain you have there to find out if it is related.
