Sopranos and other shows/movies about BP parents

We watched the new Sopranos last night, and it reminded me what hooked

me into the show. The best part of the series to me has been in the

first two seasons with Tony dealing with his mother (who is like a

mirror image of what my nada will probably be in 30 years). It's

interesting to see how that relationship has played out through the

entire show. It made me think of other TV shows and movies where nadas

and fadas seem to abound (like Roseanne and Everbody Loves ).

Anyone else find themselves drawn to these shows? Are there other

examples you can think of in TV and movies where a character was

clearly BP?
