Guest guest
My son also goes nuts with the birds! He sometimes whistles to himself and tries to match the sound of the birds to offset the noise. We have "sound proof" windows because we're near an airport, but the bird sounds still come in. Sometimes he goes out in the yard to chase them away and also tries to keep them from trying to build any nests under our eves, too. Just make sure you don't have anything like dry dog or catfood outside to attract them (anymore than they already are by the usual trees, worms in the lawn, etc.). Also, right now they are looking for nest-building materials, so if there's anything around like hay, string, small twigs, etc., they will be there to collect them. Anyway, you're definately not the only 4S person with bird sounds as a trigger! Why must they start that horrible whistling screeching singing at 2:30am??? I live in Chicago and every year I have to go through the mating season/ear torture of the Robins. For the entire months of April and May, these freakin birds start up in the middle of the night and they NEVER STOP. Does anyone else experience this? I don't know if this is a 4S thing or not. Most people (my husband) say they don't even hear it. Some people tell me they hear it and try to tune it out or it doesn't bother them. A few say yes, they hear it and it annoys the crap out of them too. But most tell me I'm nuts and to just "deal with it"... They are so loud and it sounds like a screeching whistle sound. It's the same repetitive tune over and over all night long. I have a fan running, window closed, wearing earplugs, and I can STILL hear these bastards. Which brings me to another sound I despise and makes me want to commit murder... WHISTLING. Does anyone else hate whistling as much as the gum chewing and crunching sounds? I go berzerk when I hear whistling. Not just a quick whistle like when you would call a dog... I'm talking about when people whistle tunes. Meh, time to pop another Xanax and pick up another package of earplugs from Walgreens... :-) I hate this curse!
Guest guest
It's not so much with the birds around here. It's the weed eaters, lawnmowers, leaf blowers. They should all be outlawed. Guest guest
Oh yes, the birds. We live on a farm with many tree's surrounding our house. Because they are the only tree's for many miles, we have every bird in the land stop in during spring/summer. Most don't bother me. The Robins annoy me just because they make so much noise during weird hours, but they don't trigger my 4S. The birds that I despise most that trigger me are those darn Bluejays. Ughhh.... hate those things! > > OMG...the birds.. the birds! Why must they start that horrible whistling screeching singing at 2:30am??? Guest guest
I feel your pain. Every morning around 4 AM I wake up to the sound of the damn birds outside my window. The only thing that helps is earplugs. If I put them in before I go to bed, then I can sleep through the night. > > OMG...the birds.. the birds!
