medicare stipend?

I was talking to a friendly Family Doc near my community.He has an IMP and he spent about 1-2 hours talking to us (my wife and I).He mentioned that when he opened his practice, Medicare, depending on his practice zip code, sent him some money because he was in an undeserved area. I tried to look that up on the Medicare web site and found no reference.I was wondering if any member of the list has an idea of what he is talking about?.It was nice to see the IMP dream there alive and vibrant at his office.When we left his office, we felt that our dream was on steroids or supercharged.Thanks, Adolfo
