I like the feel of Crothix in a liquid soap that I make. But I would like to show the customer that it is vegetable derived. I believe that honesty is the best policy. Thanks Carol Hi Carol, I also agree that honesty is the best policy. I have a hard copy of the data sheet--it's DS-53R-5. I don't know if it is available online. I feel sure the customer service or tech folks at Croda could send it to you. You could just give them a call. Or I would be more than happy to fax the pages to you if you would like for me to. As I have skimmed over the info again, I don't see any reference to being naturally derived. The only reference made is in the upper right hand corner where they list the product as vegetable derived. I'm not sure of the actual veggie source, but we could probably find out. For me personally, veggie or naturally derived is not a big deal, but I know that many of our customers feel that it's an important issue. To me the critical issue is whether or not there are any health risks or benefits associated with this product or any product--that's how we base our decisions on which products to sell and use. Meagan provided an excellent explanation of the PEG compounds and how these products can be vacuum stripped so that no 1, 4 Dioxane residues are present---way to go, Meagan Crothix appears to be an excellent product -- I'd be more concerned about the liquid soap being an irritant than anything. Please let me know if I can be of any help. Angie Angie The Herbarie http://www.theherbarie.com/

The Stearic Acid used in Crothix (PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate) must come a vegetable source. Maurice
