Guest guest
I'm on Visarex or Hydroxyzine and it doesn't seem to help the Allergies BUT it did seem to help the redness and outer soreness a little bit (may have been coincidence) of the VV. However the other type of deep tissue burning pain around the urethra it does not help. I really think the Nortryptilene is helping that. I forgot to take it yesterday and today I'm in pain. (Coincidence?). Don't know. I'm only taking 25 mg's of Pamelor (Nortryptilene). I was wondering what would happen if I took 50 mg's of Pamerlor. The pain would probably be less but I'd never have a bowel movement and would gain another 15 pounds!! I think anyone with VV should try a run of antihistamines? Why not. We're desperate aren't we? Hi Heide, Is Guaifenesin a Prescription? Also my doctor told me that antihistamines can be effective for IC and doctors are now trying it for vv since it is the same type of epithelial tissue as the bladder. Has anyone tried a prescription antihistamine tor vv or vvs? Thanks Sandi ------------------------------------------------------------------------ New hobbies? New curiosities? Guest guest
Hi /All, I took 100 mg Nortriptylin for 2.5 years. It made my pain tolerable and kept me from doing anything " desperate " to me or anyone else in my life. Note I put the word " desperate " in quotes but geez, there were times when I thought I was going to lose it!!!!!!!! Robin Re: gaufinisen From: SandiSharp@... Hi Heide, Is Guaifenesin a Prescription? Guest guest
I take antihistamines all the time for very bad allergies. I've been on several different ones from Chlortrimeton to Benadryl to Claritin and Allegra and none has seemed to make a difference. Sorry! -Kitty kittyelder@... Guest guest
Hi , How much antihistamine are you on? I am taking 25 mg of the Atarax. Has anyone else tried Atarax? My doctor said he heard that it has helped a lot of women with the constant burning and thought I might be a good candidate because I have the rashes with my period. Of course, I took the pill at 6:30 and wonder why at 9:30 my pain is still here! If anyone had some relief with an antihistamine, can you tell me how many days it took to feel relief? Thanks Sandi

Guest guest
Sandi: I take 25 mgs of Visarex which I believe is the same as what your taking and the same as Hydroxyzine. I can't really notice much of anything. But last night I was burning so I put on gynelotrimin and took the anti pill and today I feel better. I cannot say what worked, but if I were you I'd just take it for a few weeks and see what happens. I think my Dr. had said that sometimes remedies take 4-6 weeks, so don't give up! Plus it helps you sleep. I'm also scheduled with an allergist to see if I'm allergic to anything in a big way. Good Luck SandiSharp@... on 05/04/99 09:36:07 PM Please respond to VulvarDisordersonelist To: VulvarDisordersonelist cc: (bcc: Kleinfeldt) Subject: Re: Antihistamine From: SandiSharp@...
