Guest guest
Hey Folks - Sorry I'm sending so many messages to the list today/tonight. I've got a lot on my mind but my thoughts have been sporadic, so my messages are evident of that. I've been in a really bad fibro flare for over two weeks (since before my aunt passed away). It was getting better prior to her death, but since then it has been progressively getting worse. I'm sure it's stress related, but that doesn't make it any easier to cope with - ya know? Anyway - I was having my husband massage my leg/hip area and he discovered tons of the 'trigger points' that they talk about in myofascial pain sydrome in my inner thigh and pubic region. They hurt like hell just to press on them lightly. They were *everywhere*! Even in the labia!! So now I'm wondering what role my fibro (or pelvic muscle dysfunction in general) is playing in my vulvar pain. Can muscle tension cause the skin to be red and raw though? For those of you with fibro - can you offer any thoughts?? Also - I'm wondering if those of you with fibro think vv is worse or fibro is worse to have to live with. I seem to go back and forth with my thoughts depending on which is flared up worse at the time. G'night, Heidi
Guest guest
Heidi, I have fibro, I.C. and VV and honestly I can't tell you which flare is the most annoying. Usually it's the one I am having at the moment! There are those that feel that the VV and I.C. come under the fibro heading. I don't know if this has been proven however. I have the memory problems you mentioned and sometimes feel like I am 100 years old and suffering from Alzeimers! You didn't mention this, but do you ever feel like you are getting the flu, you ache and feel like you have a fever, but it's actually lower than normal? Also do you get sore throats from not enough sleep, which is more sleep than normal people seem to require? I am really hoping that if the researchers can figure out any one of these seemingly related disorders, that whatever will either cure one problem will cure the others! Have we ever taken a poll on this list as to how many have these related disorders along with VV? I think we have discussed which group was early onset etc. but it might be interesting to tally up how many subset groups we have here. I hope everyone is having a pain free evening! Darlene I forgot one more ailment! IBS!

Guest guest
I have both of these problems, my doctors thought it was CF, but it was finally diagnosed as problems related to severe allergies. Funny you would ask this right after people were talking about antihistamines. Anyway, The allergy shots and antihistamines control these symptoms for me except when pollen is really bad! -Kitty kittyelder@... Guest guest
Heidi, Personally, I think that both vvs and fibro suck! I have been in a bad fibro spiral since about six weeks ago, so much so that it hurts to tocu my neck, shoulders, and back and my low back, hands, hips, knees, and the bottoms of my feet feel like they weigh a thousand pounds each and ache. I think the all over ache/pain from the fibro distracts me from the vulvar burning and itching. When only the vulvar stuff is flaring, I can cope if I stay busy as it distracts me. The fibro effects every move that I make though. I am also having problems with left died head aches that get so severe that I feel like am going to vomit.
