Guest guest
Last night I decided to challenge the diet again with a second spaghetti dinner. (My boys had been counting down the days until we were going to have spaghetti again, and woke up Wednesday morning proclaiming it was spaghetti day!) Once again I used 1/4 teaspoon Kirkman's EnzymComplete with DPP-IV in addition to one Kirkman's Forte capsule. I'm not certain that the Forte is necessary, but as I've explained before, we are going very slowly and cautiously, given that the boys have been GFCF for 2 years now. As before, I'm delighted to report that we saw absolutely no negative behaviors, and no signs of IgE reactions either (red ears, cheeks, hives, etc.) The boys had three helpings. No complaints about stomach upset--which sometimes happens with one of the fellows. No hyperactivity. Just two very happy kids. They slept fine last night. No issues this morning going to school. I'll be curious to learn how they did in class today. (They are in a typical kindergarten class with some support; only a few people know about their diagnosis.) It stills seems too early to tell what positives/negatives may crop up, but right now we're very encouraged that these enzymes will work for the boys.
