Betsy,

was never evaluated specifically for cranial nerve dysfunction. We

assume it is an issue due to the issues she has combined with it being a

characteristic of CHARGE. She has poor swallow function but she has not

been trached. I wish I could help here. We are working with therapy and

hoping maturation will strengthen her swallow so that someday she will

eat by mouth. Right now it is not an option. We have been doing oral

motor therapy for about a year and a half. We have been more thorough in

the past 6 mos. It has done wonders for her oral sensitivity but we have

a ways to go. I posted a message a while back detailing her therapy the

best I could on e-mail. I will try to find it if you are interested.

E-mail me privately I will forward it to you. If you wanted to call

me, again, e-mail me and I'll forward our phone no.
