Guest guest
Okay, this is not a mineral/supplement treatment for super-sensitive hearing, but AIT and other sound/music therapies were a topic of discussion on one of the other boards last week. Someone recommended the book *Sound of a Miracle* by Annebel Stehli, so I put a hold on it at the public library, and wept my way through it Saturday afternoon. It's accessible, gripping, and a painful history lesson about how parents of autistic children were bludgeoned with the " refrigerator mother " hypothesis not so long ago. Because of the narrative style (it reads like a novel), for the first time, I had some understanding of how AIT works. I somehow doubt that my Alice has hyperaudition; I've been checking out music therapies, because she's always responded to music. However, this book is yet another moving testament to the struggle, and perhaps some of you might like to seek it out. Gail (mum to Alice,5,GDD, and Philippa,9,gifted) do you have any theories on > auditory problems???
