Hi Neva,

Actually if may not have much to do with encopresis. I was giving it

for my son's bacterial overgrowth. I don't know if one contributes to

the other but I suppose they can. The encopresis is a constipation

problem, and if the bacteria problem was severe, then the toxins can

accumulate in the intestines and add to or aggravate the constipation

problem. The constipation would trap the gunk in and this only feeds

the bad bacteria. My son has had an incredible odor stench problem

for years...including bad breath and body odor even though he

showdered every day. That is a sign of bacteria or yeast problems. So

far we are one week odor free with him going regularly on his own,

and no messy underwear. Wow. He will be 8 on Friday. And I thought

potty training until the age of 4 was long.

He is much more perky now and says he feels better.
