Guest guest
My son has been seeing him since 2005 and he has changed our home life. We just recently took my son off of the Vanderbilt protacol that he had put him on early last yr, they use it in Lyme treatments, Zithromyacin 21 days then flagyl for 10, we did this cycle for right at a yr and have seen some great gains from it. He wanted me to take him off of it and see what happened at our last visit and I wasnt thrilled about it but he told me I needed to choose between healing and killing. So, since I trust him a great deal I took that step with my son but mind you I also take my son to a NP that does the Zyto machine on him and am constantly looking at the meds and supps and herbs he is on. So far Dr recommendations have been right on with Bens Zyto test results (we just recently added the NP to the mix of modalities so I have scheduled our last to appts to go see the NP the week after we see Dr S so I can test meds and supps on the Zyto). Dr is always hunting for the root problem and it could possibly be that he is hunting the root problem in your child. We discussed on our last visit that we both suspected that my sons problem which is holding him back or disrupting his system was in his mythelation cycle and we just werent sure exactly where in the cycle it was happening (I have since sent off blood samples to Yasko so we can get the genetic test done and see where the polymorphisms are and make even better decisions about treatment). So, even though lots of people think that he is a "viral guy" he is not stuck in it. That was just one of the first massive things that he saw in the children at his clinic and many have labeled him with that belief. He is a thinker and researcher and always looking for the answer. My experience has been that testing for Lyme is not that reliable. If you decide to, then you need to talk to Dr about doing a challenge (vanderbilt protocal) several months before you have the test done otherwise it will be a real waste of money for you. I also suggest that you get to know him much better and do lots of research on stuff, he loves for his clients to be educated and if you show an interest he will help you in your quest. We actually were one of those that had miraculous changes within the first month. And he told us at the beginning that things would get worse before they got better. Of course my husband and I were petrified because we didnt think it could get any worse because things were so bad for my son. But, he was dead wrong, things only got better, never never never worse (Thank God!)Do your own research, become a partner in your childs treatment with Dr . You will feel much better if you can make those knowledgeable decisions with your Dr. I wouldnt trade anything for Dr , in my house he is worth his weight in gold and that is no joke, I am serious. Tamet Does anyone know if K. in Austin, Texas is experienced in Lyme disease? He's know as the "viral" guy and treats many autistic kids (including my son). We've only been seeing him for a short time and haven't had any miraculous changes in my son. Wondering if we should check into testing for Lyme. We live in the Houston area.
