Guest guest
Repetition of weird habits totally get to me. There is this guy who I'll call Hummy Hummerson ( in honor of Crunchy McSmackerson) and that is what he does, ALL day long. He sits about 2 feet away from me, and I found out he KNOWS that his constant humming drives me insane, but he continues to do it. How's that for a team player? It is heaven when he is out of the office. I still feel bad when I mock him at times, but I think I have about as much control over mocking him as he does humming. Not so much. I try to disguise it, but he knows. Maybe not swilling down highly caffeinated drinks all day MIGHT help. Ya think? I would complain, but our office manager is a gum chewer and knows about my problem. He is thoughtful enough to not chew around me a lot. I feel really blessed about my other co-workers. They know about my issue and are pretty cool about not chewing and clicking around me. I don't want to force the issue too much. I really like the advocacy idea for younger members. I am sure many of us older folks would have loved to have that, and have it now, for that matter, a group of people who would have our backs and try to educate the public about 4S. What a wonderful feeling it would be to be in the majority as far as setting rules in school and office settings. A lovely fantasy. Several years ago at another job, I remember taking one of those clicky type pens on a co-workers desk and hiding it somewhere in their workspace where they would not find it easily. I felt a little guilty about that, but not too much. I remember this person being upset with me about something, and holding up the pen and clicking it, so I thought of that every time I started to feel bad. Since the office only bought the cheapy stick pens, that person was stuck with one of those, and I was happy. Wishing you many trigger free days. Guest guest
Is there a way to turn up the volume of the phone? Most have a "mute" function, so why not volume control?= M-F.(PS: Want me to put a jinx on that bully? Just gimme his name, I will totally do it.)> To: Soundsensitivity > Date: Wed, 10 Nov 2010 12:03:50 +0000> Subject: Re: Appreciate the posts lately> > Yes I have thought about it. He seems to have a hard time concentrating, and I think he thinks the caffeine "calms him down" which I can kind of relate to as well. He does have a mean streak though, and I do believe he has control over it. That is why I do everything I can to avoid having contact with him. I wear earplugs, but I have to answer the phone.
