Guest guest
Maybe her 10 incline is different from your treadmill. No way I could do the whole 20 minutes on 10 incline on mine. I usually gradually increase the incline and the speed. The incline ends up on 6 by the time I reach a 10 with the speed at a 10. I'm also holding 4 lbs of hand weights during the whole time. Guest guest
Yes, a 10 on my machine is supposed to be 10 mph since it says 6 min mile at that setting. 10 mph is the fastest setting on mine and the most incline is 10%. The lowest incline on my treadmill is 1.5%. It won't go completely flat. The weights are 2 lb weights that I hold in each hand. These came with the treadmill and they are like tiny little dumbells. My treadmill has buttons for changing incline and speed if that is what you are asking. I never have done full incline and full speed. I guess I still have something to work up to. Guest guest
Wow, it's been a long time since we've heard from you! It has been so long it brought happy tears to my eyes. Have you been lurking or did you just check-in. How's Lori and the kids? EFL is the acronym for Eating for Life. It is a recently published book by Bill . It goes into more detail for the nutrition aspect of BFL and then contains 150 recipes. These are tasty recipes and easy to prepare. I've been cooking out of it for 6 weeks and am actually finding cooking enjoyable. I haven't heard of anyone that doesn't like the book and most of the recipes other than the Anyday Sundae (which I like) we agree are tasty. Of course there's a website you can check out and it has some sample recipes as well. http://www.eatingforlife.com It is great to hear from you! Guest guest
I found it recently in an outlet mall bookstore for only $10.00. I see several at http://www.half.com for only $9.00 plus shipping. I think it is $16.98 at Wal-Mart. Andy > I'll pick it up. Guest guest
I'm a morning workout guy too now. When you were here before I was an evening guy. I switched to mornings at some point and have't gone back. Hugh needed morning workouts too since he wasn't always getting his workouts done. So on weight days, I have to get up even earlier so I can workout first and then I help him with his workouts. We are both doing really well! Hugh was out of the groove for awhile (knee problem and out of habit), but since September, he has been in the habit and has rarely missed a workout. His weight doesn't seem to go down much, but his muscle is increasing. He's at about 192 lbs. I'm slowly gaining muscle, switch to a new routine over a year ago, and it has really helped to gain muscle. I'm only 7 lbs from my pre-BFL weight 3 years ago due to gaining muscle. I like your cell phone trick for getting up. My trick for getting up is that the dog wants outside about the time I get up to do my workout. After getting up 2 times to let him out and then back in, I'm ready to get up. We've had snow on the ground here for awhile too. Kind of unusual. I'm ready to run outside, but our road isn't melting very fast. 40s this weekend though! I can go into town and run on the trails on the weekend, but weekdays, I just use the treadmill. Guest guest
Hi Gang! I drove to Vermont yesterday (on my anniversary) and picked up my new weight bench, barbells and plates. Got back too late for the movie we were going to go see, so we settled on Cold Mountain. My sins yesterday: very poor water consumption (no pee time allowed), a Filet O Fish at McD's, popcorn at the movie, and a big- a**ed ribeye steak at 10pm. I know... make it my free day Today's menu: M1: Egg whites, spinach, feta cheese, blueberries (can't remember the name in EFL) M2: Carrot Cake Muffin w/RTD Lo-Carb Myoplex M3: Tuna Casserole (planned over) M4: Yogurt w/LF Cottage Cheese M5: Sushi, Shrimp w/steamed broccoli, little white rice M6: An EFL shake Till Later, Bob White
