Hi Jane,

I use jasmine solutes regularly, both jasmine grandiflorum and jasmine

sambac. Generally 1 to 3 drops is ample in a blend. Jasmine is a strong

absolute in either form. They both have different scents though so they are not

necessarily interchangable in a blend because it will change the overall scent

you have come up with. Drop me a line off list and help you with the

jasmine.

I use Jasmine EO extensively. You do only need one drop, depending

on your application. I add it to several products, and one drop in a 12ml

bottle of a pure oil blend and there is a noticeable difference. One drop

into 250ml of lotion and you can tell it is there.

It's not as expensive as you might think - although I wouldn't put it in

soap! Even buying it in 17ml bottles (which is as far as my budget

stretched last month), it only calculates to around 50c per drop (that's

Australian, about 35-40c US per drop). Considering I only need to add

one drop per product, that's not that hard to recover in the cost of the

end product.

This month I have to buy both rose and neroli absolute... yikes!

yes, jasmine is strong...like rose, you can use less of jasmine

absolute than you can of many essential oils.

Before you buy make VERY sure to get samples...I've had so called pure

jasmine grand from a well known supplier that was no stronger

aromatically than our 10% dilution... needless to say, with that

particular jasmine, you would have had to use a LOT more than of some

others.

If there is interest in a coop, I just brought in a kilo of sambac and

a kilo of grand from india...if someone wants to organize a coop, I

can quote a good price on a lb of it. and of course we always are

glad to send samples.
