Guest guest
>I pray that the pain treatment is helping Mette today!!! thanks kelly...your prayers were powerful.. she has almost no pain.. the new treatment is working wonders.. however, she is more yellow than ever.. she is transferred to the university hospital tomorrow.. the local doctor's think she should have have contrast put in her bilary tree and x-rays taken.. well, of course she had her external bile duct removed along with her cancerous gall bladder, in July...and an ERCP is no longer possible.. so, they plan to guide the " thing " via an ultra-sound until in the right spot to push in the contrast.. I gather they will go through the right side and into the liver....it sounds damn invasive to me.. I'm thinking they ought to wait a day or two and see if things return to " normal " ....isn't there more than one here who every once in a while has high LFTs and turns a little yellow, and then a few days later goes back to " normal " ....remember, she just had her first cholangitis attack two weeks ago...might the high numbers and yellowing be related to that?? I'm hoping so...and hoping someone here can confirm that... and I'm hoping in the morning she is " white " like normal and they don't push that " thing " into her side.. this is pretty scary... tomorrow morning I go back to the " patient hotel " at Aarhus.. I'll try to log on here but am not sure I'll be able to.. wish us lots of luck.. DenverD: husband of Mette (44), UC '73, dx PSC 6/2000 alive in Denmark <www.Texan.dk> Email: OrdSmed@... Guest guest
Jaudice is a sign of blockage either stone or infection ,but never had infections and she was always yellow until she had her tx so I don't know what else could be causing it,and that's probably why they want to go in. Need someone better than I to answer that one. I am so glad her pain is being relieved though - Thank God!!! What did they do to her? Guest guest
>Jaudice is a sign of blockage either stone or infection right.. and there seems to be no infection (no fever and all the blood parameters that would detect an infection says there is none..) > >I am so glad her pain is being relieved though - Thank God!!! What did they >do to her? a new pain killer...or new to Mette (and maybe to the doctors here).. sorry, I don't remember the name.. I'll find out and report it later.. DenverD I have found that nothing seems to work out the way I usually think it will. Its always different and usually better.

Guest guest
Denver, I hope that Mette's PTC goes well. That they can find and relieve the blockage. My suspicion is that the ducts are inflammed from the surgery and swollen shut. (Easy to make a guess. Hard to do something useful).
