Guest guest
Hi Duncan, About your chemistry: Colloids are funny things. They have a huge reactive surface so even alledgedly inert substances suddenly become reactive. If you're unsure about the reactivity of colloidal silver and stomach HCl, why haven't you tested that? Better safe than sorry! Pour some highly concentrated colloidal silver into a glass of HCl and see if it becomes slightly milky. If yes, the consumers are digesting silver chloride. If you manufacture it by electrolysis, you'll know that even the slightest amount of salt in the (tap) water will contaminate the colloidal silver with silver chloride. I live in Europe and the American FDA has nothing to say here. But whether we like the FDA and its methods or not, they are serious about safety. This year they took a major product by Bayer off the market because some people died. That cost Bayer quite a few billions and if it weren't for the September 11 incident and the subsequent Anthrax attacks (Cipro!) the company would be in deep financial trouble. The people shown here on TV were grey as a coin and claimed they used colloidal silver. The concentrations weren't mentioned, of course, I suspect they didn't even know. They were young, in their thirties, and went for homeopathic medicine out of fear/suspicion/dislike of regular medicine. Now they're maimed for life. I wouldn't call then Blue Show Ponies, they are just poor buggers who believed what was written on the bottle. They had no way of distinguishing between a serious product and a scam precisely BECAUSE the stuff isn't regulated. I'm certainly not against homeopathy (my dad, a doctor, makes a living doing it and I wouldn' t call him a fool) but I do believe there's something to say for government regulation of these products. Just my two Eurocents worth...
