Guest guest
Hi my name is and I am 31yrs old. I suffer from depression, eating disorder, and OCD (for 16yrs). I am currently taking Paxil 30mg and I am thinking of going off of it. I actually like the way it makes me feel, but I hear so many bad things about it. I really don't know what to do because I know i need to take something to help me. I am miserable without meds. What should I do??? You said: <<I suffer from depression, eating disorder, and OCD (for 16yrs).>> ** You don't have to suffer with these much longer. They are curable with orthomolecular treatment. This is the use of high quality nutrients chosen particularly for the individual. Tell me more about each of the conditions you feel you have. For instance, how did the depresssion begin? What about the OCD? When did it begin and how does it manifest? What type of eating disorder and when was it first identified? How long have you been on Paxil? What other drugs have you taken? I'm sorry you've had to spend more than half your life thinking drugs were the only answer for you. Regards, (moderator/listowner)

Guest guest
Hi Mish I am so proud of you. A word of warning, I and many others have found the doctors are non to understanding about these drugs, they tend to tell you it's OK to reduce by amounts that are far to big. I am sure will guide you on the most appropriate amount to taper by, tiny amounts! We are all here to help you through every step of the way. Guest guest
Dear Mish, You said: << I will wait for my doctors instructions first, but she already had be drop 10mg last week. So i was just assuming it would be another 10mg this week. I am so afraid how I am going to be when I get off this. I have been so happy. I have been way to happy on this. > > I will let you know what my doctor tells me to do when I talk ter her today.>> ** It looks like you haven't read many of the posts from our message archive. Virtually everyone who was reducing a drug (or several) ended up here because they followed a doctor's advice on how to reduce the drug(s) and found themselves in very bad shape as a result. 10 mg. per week is much too fast to reduce. We've found that 5- 10 PERCENT decreases, done only after you feel stable from each decrease is the only way people can do this without ending up back on the drug(s) or disabled due to the withdrawal. At this point, I've seen this thousands of times. You may want to comb through the messages and see what I'm saying here, or you may have to be one of those who learns the hard way (this isn't new to us either). I will tel you one more thing and then I'll say no more -- until you've experieced a withdrawal from a psychotropic drug thatis done too quickly, you don't know what pain, misery, depression, and anxiety is. The sad thing is, there is no magic to fix it after you've done it this way. Your chemistry will not be easily corrected. This results in a prolonged period of recovery often lasting years and sometimes ending with an incomplete recovery. Regards,
Guest guest
Just because you were able to cold turkey Lexapro, Vicodin and Xanax with little problem doesn't mean you'll be able to get off Paxil that easily. Paxil is a difficult drug to withdraw from I took Vicodin and Oxycontin post surgery for about 6 months. I had no withdrawals, no side effects, nothing. I had no problems getting off a really low dose of Xanax either, but I did wean down very slowly. But Paxil. . . omg, that was the utter drug from hell -- I weaned slowly on that one and was catapulted into seizures, and every other horrid side effect that the drug produces which lasted more than two years and left me completely disabled in the end. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG!!! Take rat poison instead. It has fewer side effects. "Blind Reason" a novel of pharmaceutical intrigue Think your antidepressant is safe? Think again. It's Unsafe At Any Dose

Guest guest
Hi Mish, Please be careful paxil withdrawal can hit hard in 3 to 5 days of having none.Don't throw your pills out because you maybe looking for them within a few days. To many people make that mistake.I hope you are one of the lucky ones. Ros
