probably a PR strategy to not reveal that to the paying public until it was no

longer possible to hide it..

Here is some good news..... From: Barb

Country Singer LeDoux Recovering

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- LeDoux has left the Omaha hospital where he had

been recovering from liver transplant surgery.

The 51-year-old country music singer underwent a liver transplant Oct. 7

after being diagnosed with a disease that blocks the bile ducts and leads to

cirrhosis.

LeDoux left the Nebraska Health System's Lied Transplant Center on Monday

and planned to spend the Thanksgiving holiday at his home near Kaycee, Wyo.

Dr. Debra Sudan, assistant professor of surgery at the University of

Nebraska Medical Center, said LeDoux has shown no signs of rejecting the

transplanted liver.

LeDoux, a former rodeo cowboy, is known for songs celebrating rodeos and the

cowboy life and has been cited as an influence by country music star Garth

.

Doctors say many patients with the singer's disease, primary sclerosing

cholangitis, survive only about two years without a transplant. The cause of

the disease is not known.

When I was looking at info on PSC a few years ago the 2 year

projection was common. Now I see 10 or 10-15 years being given

as the estimated survival time. I think it boils down to when it

is diagnosed. For Ledoux probably 2 years was a reasonable

figure. Others, who aren't so reluctant to see a doctor, get the

news long before they are at that point. The current information

on the web reflects that better state of medical care.
