We tried this with our son several years ago and saw very little "improvement". In order to receive the injections, our son had to be sedated using Versed (unsure if this is the correct spelling)--this is a liquid sedation medication in which he became totally relaxed and would lay completely still for the injections and then afterward, he remembered nothing about the procedure. This is a very expensive procedure. It's like everything else that comes along "promising" to "dramatically improve" those with Autism. My son was diagnosed at the age of 4. In the last 8 years, we've tried just about everything that comes along--none of which has "improved" our son's Autism. What has helped him more than anything is fantastic doctors, exceptional teachers and specialists who work with him regarding speech and occupational therapies. Sharon Hi everyone: A long time ago, I read a story about a mother who found out that her son lacked secretin, and as soon as she got him to receive some, her child improved a great deal. I just would love to hear any comments from you about it. Just to satisfy the curiosity I've been having about this. I've heard that only a very small percentage get something good out of it, and also that it has become some sort of "new attraction" that some doctors are using just to get money out of desperate parents.
