I didn't post my experiences to be a " Horror " story as I > think someone posted. Dear , I wasn't referring to your experiences as a " horror " story, but was calling my own a horror story in reply to who asked two specific questions, which I answered honestly. I feel like you do, that it helps to read about ALL of the experiences out there, but I was stressing that my " horror " stories were not the norm, but rare occurences. I quoted my original post below, please re-read it because I didn't mean to offend or upset you or anyone else. I called my experience horror stories in much the same way as some women who have had a particularly bad experience talk about their childbirth experiences to a woman who is expecting for the first time. Of course not everyone experiences the worst possible scenario, in fact, few do. I hope I have explained myself clearly enough to ease your thinking. I'm really sorry that you have had to experience the complications that you have had, and I'm impressed by your strength in managing with them. I wish you nothing but the best, Quote: " Hi , I had detethering surgery in May 2002 (43 years old at the time). As you will probably read, the length of surgery varies greatly. Mine was supposed to be 3 & 1/2 hours and ended up being 8 hours due to complications. [she asked about the length of surgery] I was told to be prepared to stay in the hospital for a week, but I was sent home after 5 days. I feel that 5 days was not long enough for me, I ended up springing a CSF leak two days later and was back in the hospital for 8 more days. [she asked about the length of hospital stay] Enough horror stories, according to what I have read, these complaints are more rare than common, but be prepared for the unexpected! Good luck, "
