Guest guest
Hi All, Sorry if this queston has been addressed recently, but I got a life for a few minutes and when I came back, there were a zillion posts, so I sifted through and read the ones with the subject lines that seemed relevant to our situation. If peptizyde addresses and breaks down the peptides in gluten and casein, which is apparently the issue in the vast majority of autistic kids, why are we supplementing with Zyme Prime? For those who have known issues with other peptides, it seems like a wise move; but my child has no KNOWN sensitivities to ANY food. What is the down side to eliminating Zyme Prime? Also, we had been suplementing with both for about 4 months and last week, we ran out of both before we got the new shipment. Apparently, tighter security around the mail is causing some delay. It was my error in not anticipating the delay, but the bottom line is that Spencer went for 2 1/2 days with no enzymes and he is not and never has been gfcf. I carefully observed his behavior because this was a FORCED test, so I had no reason not to see how he would do without the enzymes. I saw absolutely NO change in him whatsoever. When we first started him on the enzymes, I thought there was no benefit after the first bottle, so I didn't reorder, but I was SOOOO wrong. He turned into a little maniac...fussy, irritable, moody...just really out of sorts. This told us that the enzymes were of great benfit to him...not with regards to his skill...speech, motor, etc., but with regards to how he felt. So we were clear that he needed the enzymes. However, after this last forced test a week ago, I amnot sure what to make of it. Can a person " heal " his gut that quickly if he takes the enzymes religiously? Or, does it take longer to see a reaction if he has been taking them religiously for 4 months? Remember, these enzymes are not for infractions. Spencer is eating a full diet of every food group except meat. This did not stop while we were waiting for our shipment to arrive. Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Dr Houston, if you have heard of any stories that fit a similar profile, I would be glad to hear them, as well as your scientific knowledge of how this is " supposed to " play out. Thanks, everyone.
