Guest guest
I'm going by memory here, but they liked the Bowflex better. They had problems with the seat on their Crossbow and thought it might be a defect in the one they purchased. It was pretty much impossible to do the exercises with this defect. I'll try to post a summary later. Andy > > > Does anyone have any experience with or knowledge of the " Total > > Body Trainer " by Body by Jake? Guest guest
Hi, The Total Trainer is very similar to the TotalGym.. which I use. I get a really good workout on it.. and I am quite happy with the results so far.. The only thing I don't like is that it takes some effort to go from doing squats, to doing a hamstring curl. The issue involved is that its a chore to take off the 190 pounds of weight from the weight bar, and then attach the leg/arm attachment. Takes about 30 to 40 seconds so I am unable to go from the squats to the hamstring curl with no rest.. Not a huge issue since the BFL type workouts are designed for a 2 minute rest between exercises but I can see this could be an issue for other type of workouts. Another thing about the TotalGym is that you can only work one leg at a time.. so the lower-body workout takes slightly longer. Other than that.. Its a great piece of equipment.. --Fred > Does anyone have any experience with or knowledge of the " Total Body > Trainer " by Body by Jake? Guest guest
Fred, can you please tell me what " TotalGym " you have and who manufactures it? The only " TotalGym " I can find on the internet is a pilates looking thing that has no weight bar at all, so I'm confused as to what you're talking about. Thanks, > Hi, > The Total Trainer is very similar to the TotalGym.. which I use. I get a really good workout on it.. and I am quite happy with the > results so far.. Guest guest
Hi , The TotalGym I have is TG 3000XL. Its the more expensive version that can take up to 400lbs of weight. For example.. I weigh 185lbs so I can load up to 215lbs on the weightbar max.. I've never put this much on.. The most I've put on is 190lbs. The weightbar is an optional item that retails for around $20.. However, it would be very easy to find an alternative at a hardware store, etc. I remember someone saying on one of the TG Yahoo groups that they bought a natural gas pipe that worked well. For more info, check out http://www.totalgym.com You can order from this site, but you may find a better deal at one of the alternative sites.. You can find those by doing a google search.. Hope this helps! --Fred > > Hi, > > The Total Trainer is very similar to the TotalGym.. which I use. > I get a really good workout on it.. and I am quite happy with the > > results so far..
