Guest guest
I have been lurking on the list for sometime now. My boyfriend was dxed with UC and PSC in Aug of 2000. Let me first say how helpful this list has been in making him feel like he is not the only one with the strange symptoms (itching, fatigue, URQ pain etc.) The list helps me to reassure him that he needs to let me know about his symptoms so I can help whenever possible. In early September he came home from work more tired than usual, and then the URQ pain set in. He was burning up but had the chills so bad his teeth were chattering. After two blankets and a heating pad didnt warm him up...and his temp bouncing between 100 and 101...I called the oncall GI and he said to bring him into the ER immediately. Sure enough he had a bile duct infection that won him a three day stay at Club Med. They finally let him go after two IV pouches of Leviquin (very strong antibiotics) and a two week supply of CIPRO. He got through it ok...but now I am always sure to keep the thermometer handy. (a fancy digital one AND the old fashioned manual kind just in case technology fails!). It was a learning experience for me...and now I know more of what to watch for. I think it would be best to contact your GI. > > >Subject: Infections > > > >Hi, > > > >I remember my husband's doctor talking about fevers and chills and asking if > >this had happend to him yet.
