My son is 3.5 yrs old. He have been on both Peptizyde & HN-Zyme for

10 days. I have been disolving 1 each in his juice and trying to get

him to drink it prior to the meals (lunch & dinner) or at least

finish

it shortly after the meal. I just started this week giving it to him

with his breakfast. I have been hesitant about that one because of

all the other supplements that are also in his morning juice mixture.

My questions are: you speak of " timing " as being important for

success. Is putting the enzymes in his juice effective enough? What

is the optimal time for them to get in his system, before or after

the

meal? Is there a problem with it being mixed with other supplements?

Is there a problem with it being refrigerated in the juice over night?

Back story on my son, Garrin. He was initially diagnosed as being in

the Autistic Spectrum in Jan 2001. We put him on a GFCF diet on Mar

1st. When we got back some test results we also took him off of soy.

So he has been GFCFSF since May (5 months). He also has a yeast and

bacteria problem. We are working with a DAN doctor. He is currently

taking: glutathion (injections), l-carnitine, a special amino acid

blend, oregano oil (for the yeast), zinc, potassium, copper,

magnesium, FOS, ProBio Gold, alpha ketoglutaric acid, lipoid acid,

and

he was taking Culterelle untill I read about it possibly been from

casein. Yikes what a list. I am hoping to get him off of some of

these. We have seen slow progress since he has been on the diet and

all of these supplements. Biggest thing gone is he does not doing

any

stimming any more. He has been evalutated numerous times and has no

sensory issues. He is happy most of the time and enjoys playing with

his little sister (1.5 yrs old). Since starting pre-school this

summer he has shown great interest in other kids. He is very active

and is interested in a lot of things like games, videos, books,

typical toys, and especially right now fire trucks. He's a little

obsessed with them, but he has gone through other obsessions like

letters, numbers, and cars. He had a full evaluation in August and

the child psyciratrist said that in all of his 30+ years of doing

this, he had never see a child like Garrin. He scored 148 on one

test

in which the norm was 50-60. The tests only went to a 6.5 year old

level and he went past that. I guess this is some what common among

autistics. So for Garrin his biggest issue is speech, understanding

it and using it. We started doing ABA with him in January ourselves

and have since been able to find someone to work with him. He has

made great progress but is still considerbly behind in speech. He

has

seemed to make a big step forward since being on the enzymes. Saying

more words and spontaneously using them. Obviously language is where

is I want to see improvements made. We noticed that he seemed to be

getting stomah aches especially at night. When I read about using

the

enzymes in combination with Glutamine I knew that had to be it. So

we

took him off of the glutamine. His appetite has seemed to be smaller

than usuall (it's always been small) since being on the enzymes.

Hopefully that has been do to the glutamine interaction.

Like probably all the parents I want this to work. It would be

wonderful to be able to let him eat other foods. He loves trying new

things. Since we have been seeing the DAN doctor and been on the

diet

we have gone through so much money on this, money that we don't have.

But our reasoning is that if this will help we have to do it. All

the

dietary restrictions and confusion about what might be going on

inside

him, along with fighting for the right services for him from our

school, it can all be overwhelming at times. But you have to have

hope that it will all be worth it.
