But a public memorial is scheduled for Saturday noon at Soldier Field. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family has asked people to bring a new toy to the memorial service. They'll go to one of the Payton foundations that distributes toys to the Dept. of Children and Family Services at the holidays. Toys and cards can also be mailed to: Walter Payton Inc., 5407 Trillium, Suite 272, Hoffman Estates, IL 60192.
