>My local printer told me that I couldn't print reliable bar code labels on my

home ink jet and that he sends bar code sheets away to a special place that does

them. He also says it can be expensive.

>Can anyone give me a leg up here?

>My business is very small and I'm looking at costs.

Is your company a member of the Uniform Code Council, Inc. (UCC)?

In order for your company to print U.P.C. Bar Code Symbols, your company will

need to become a member of the Uniform Code Council, Inc. (UCC). When you become

a member, your company will be assigned an

identification number for your company's use (company prefix). You will need

this number to create your own U.P.C.s.
