Like I said I have a awful lots of " thin " shampoo here <G> Thanks, Re: thickening shampoo I'm sure this is not how the product is supposed to be used, but....I have taken a small amount of finished shampoo and warmed it along with some crothix in the microwave until its dissolved...then slowly stirred it into the rest of the shampoo and it worked. Copolymer 28 (Aculyn series) PROPERTIES: thickens formulas instantly to clear & viscous gels when neutralized to a pH >5.5, thickened solutions exhibit superior clarity, highly salt tolerant compared to other thickeners, stabilizes also alcohol & glycerin-based formulas. available from: www.makingcosmetics.com The Chemistry store has the same thing under another name : Soapmakers Aid 2000 www.thechemistrystore.com also from the Chemistry Store is Methylcellulose. I like to use Methocel which is (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose from DOW) this product even helps the surfactant system. I find it's cheap and very effective. Another good thickner is PEG-150 Distearate it is somewhat simular to Crothix available from the Herbarie www.theherbarie.com there are also: Sepigel 305 Salcare SC96 and a natural source thickner that holds well in surfactants is : Algin (sodium alginate) HTH, RJ Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
