I usually run the fan that's right next to my bed, but we have some really loud

dogs in the 'hood, and I get startled awake. I used to try to sleep with

headphones over and in my ear, and they hurt :/

Then I found this: http://www.sleepphones.com/

I bought the smallest one because I have a small head and they stretch a little

too. It's perfect: you can adjust the position of the little speakers, so they

are right over your ears, and they are very comfortable. Sometimes, I can

position it to cover my eyes too. It gets a bit hot during the summer, but I

don't mind. I plug it into my iPhone and listen to nature sounds or noise

generator app. The alarm will still sound if it's set on the phone, and it will

only wake me up, not my boyfriend who usually sleeps in till hours later :) It

could work in that sniffling roommate situation too!

Oh, and they also offer free binaural beat MP3s that helps you fall asleep,

including noise and nature sounds.
