There is some selectivity to it, showing a preference to kill pathogens and not friendly microflora, but the data is not specific enough to give you details about it. It works against pin worms as well. So, it's kind of a " kills most things " kind of thing. It is suppose to be stronger than bleach at killing germs. One time I put a few drops mixed in water on my daughter's warts and compared it to full strength of other herbs on her warts, and the grapefruit seed extract worked the best, even though it was diluted and the other stuff wasn't. It tastes very bitter. I put it in a cup of orange juice for us adults, and have to mix it with sugar for little ones. I am referring to the liquid form.
