Guest guest
I don't understand it either, my triggers stand out as sensory experiences on steroids. To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Sat, January 29, 2011 10:28:08 AMSubject: Re: Re: SURVEY LINK I am still trying to figure this out. I too am overloaded ,distracted and tense on a sensory level. I really don't undertand how much of it is the physical sounds and how much of it is just my reaction to the people or dogs or things that cause the sounds that are the real problem. The sounds associated with people seem to bother me the most by far. I am directing some emotions( anger and fear mostly) towards them. Help me to understand what is really going on if you can. I have lived with this for 55 years and really don't understand it! ML Subject: Re: Re: SURVEY LINKTo: Soundsensitivity Date: Saturday, January 29, 2011, 5:52 AM I agree with . For me its a much more basic primary reaction of agitation and intense need to get away (avoid), which is just not the same as anxiety or rage, these are more complicated feeling states that can arise out of the initial agitation and need to avoid. Guest guest
I guess that's why we are all here. I have tried to understand it from so many different perspectives. Primal Therapy, Scientology, Psychology/Psychiatry, alternative medicine you name it. So far, for me, L.Ron Hubbard, contrary to some popular opinion, seems to have undersood the human mind better than anyone else that I have researched. I will not give up hope for this. Just my humble opinion though. It would give give some peace of mind to understand where the heck this comes from, but more importantly how to effectively treat it. Maybe we will find out more by putting our minds and insights together. Lets hope and pray for answers. Mike L. Guest guest
I have little opinion about religions one way or the other, but the Scientologists will have to pry my psych meds out of my cold dead hands before I give them up. Guest guest
Hi ,The negative impact I mention was based on the fact that in every group you join, the group tends to squash the individual! This was very evident in the Sea Org. As you may know, you sign a billion year contract when you enter this group! Obviously, Scientology is all about past lives and finding the inception of your problems therein. In this group you have a number zealots and since your contract is so long, there is no rush to move you up the bridge, which was very frustrating to say the least. Like you say, the TR's really improve overall communication skills that are invaluable in life. Have you taken the "hard" TR course? If not, those will really shake your world! As for this helping with 4S, I'm not sure. I've always felt that the problem with eating sounds go back to past lives where we have been eaten and had to listen to the sound of that connected with all the pain! The sounds in this life just trigger these deep feelings. Just my hunch though. We are on the same page!Best regards,Sent from my iPad Hi , I am glad to here from someone that has experience with Scientology. I was very reluctant to mention it here, for fear of offending someone. But like I said, no one else seems to have understood the human mind like LRH to my knowledge and I have read a lot over the years on the subject. However I would never call myself an expert by any means. Just a lay person. I am familar with the Sea Org. Interesting group of very dedicated people to say the least. I got over a fear and discomfort with looking people in the eye. Just TR's mostly helped. Flattened it. I has helped me so much in my communication and relationships. That, and of course other skills. Do you think that it could help with 4S? I have yet to bring it up with anyone there. I live 10 minutes from the Las Vegas Org and go a few days a week. It is a big help and I am glad I found it, though late in life for me. Could you share why the Sea Org had a negative effect on your life. You can tell me personally if you want at my e-mail address if you prefer. Just curious. Thanks, Mike L. Guest guest
, That is a very interesting observation on past lives. You never know. Nothing suprises me much anymore. I would think that the advanced TR's courses might have some effect on 4S. I am working out a plan right now with the CS. So you think that there was some physical pain associated with this aversion to eating sounds? I also hate dogs barking, snorting, breathing, rattleing etc. It may be more complex than we think. And next to impossible to cure with conventional methods. I would be happy just to allieviate the symptoms enough to make life a little more barable and less restricted. I will continue with Scientology as I feel it offers the the best hope for me at the present time. I have tried so many other avenues in the past with no success. I am open to anything at this point seems to work. Mike Subject: Re: Re: SURVEY LINKTo: Soundsensitivity Date: Saturday, January 29, 2011, 5:52 AM I agree with . Guest guest
So would you say scientology has made you less reactive to sound? Probably anything that can help make a person less emotionally reactive is going be useful to 4s, whatever the best method of getting there will vary per individual. Past lives? who can really know with any certainty one way or the other, that's just my view on it anyway. 4s does seem to be resistant to current conventional methods of treatment that's for sure. Guest guest
Scientology works in so many different ways and it's effects make many changes in a person over time so it is not easy to answer that question. For one, I am more myself and less reactive to the my environment in general has helped me to feel less out of control which makes 4S so difficult to deal with. I have done some TR's (training Routines) similar to desensitization therapy, that has helped me to be more comfortable in my own skin and around people. Very helpful also with this problem. I have not experienced past lives. I am a bit new at it. But I think that it could potentially have a big impact. I have seen huge changes in people who practice Scientology. It can be very effective. The jury is still out on how it can help 4S. As we speak I am working with a case supervisor(OT8 if you know what that is) who is going to tailor make a program, if you will ,to address my specific 4S problem. I will have to update you on my progress. I do like the personal care I get and that there are no pharmacutical drugs used there, since I like to do things as naturally as possible . I hated the side effects of drugs that I have tried in the past. Turned me into a sexually disfunctional zombie. Not for me! To be continued... ML.
ML. For me its a much more basic primary reaction of agitation and intense need to get away (avoid), which is just not the same as anxiety or rage, these are more complicated feeling states that can arise out of the initial agitation and need to avoid. Guest guest
I don't personally believe in the aspects that Scientology teaches, but am not offended that someone else disucsses it. Hopefully when others describe some of their deeper beliefs we will all share the same grace. We are on the same page! Best regards, Sent from my iPad Hi , I am glad to here from someone that has experience with Scientology.
