To: Sent: Thu, January 27, 2011 6:00:47 PMSubject: Re: Sphygmomanometer The handheld Welch Allyn units without a mercury column have marks on the gauge around the zero mark where the indicator needle is supposed rest before you apply pressure to the cuff. If the needle comes to rest outside of the range, then it needs sent in for service. On a cheaper model, I have no idea if you're getting accurate results.
