Yes , I do agree with much of what you say. It could be something like

that. I don't know either. Elly's husband takes care of their computers, is

very knowledgeable and would need to decide if he felt there was a need to

do anything further.

It is good you bring up the possibilities though because many people are

scamed out of their money because something sounds legitimate and I think we

are trusting by nature. Just my opinion.

another possibility to consider in this situation, is that a hijacker got

into her e-mail and is running a scam.

This is just a theory that a friend of mine brought to my attention since

she was familiar with this type of scam.

Again, this is speculation of another potential possibility for this

happening. I don’t know the exact solution because I’m not a computer tech,

but I would assume she would erase all her cookies. It would require

changing the password of the mail box, and Yahoo should be notified and

possibly the law enforcement. This is a type of a crime considered extreme.

The police may intervene and set up something to catch the crook. Especially

if it is an only going problem and people are loosing money.
