Guest guest
I am a 40 year old woman (with 4S), and I am going back to college. OMG it is a nightmare for me! I sit in one class next to a foot swinger, a pen clicker, and a sniffer. I have to plug my ears which makes it harder to hear the teacher. I try to block the foot swinger's actions with my notebook or my hand alongside of my face, and try to take notes and pay attention. I was accepted to an intern position in the library, and I was so excited to enjoy peace and quiet. I knew this would be my safe haven in the midst of insanity. Imagine my horror when the librarian continually snaps her gum!! I cannot wear my mp3 player because I am working, so I manage the best I can. I usually work straight for an hour, and than take a break to go to the bathroom. I tend to re-group while I am in the bathroom, and then I go back out there to deal with it again. I work for 4 hours straight on two days out of the week. Sometimes I try to get her to talk about something if I really need an on-the-spot break, but that doesn't usually go over too well in the library! I was driving home from school and I wondered how the heck I manage a high GPA while dealing with so many obstacles. I patted myself on the back and praised myself for accomplishing so much. Normally I beat myself up after a really bad 4S day. The pat on the back felt much better!!! I think that we are amazing people! We manage not only to survive, but we excel as well. BRAVO all of you 4S sufferers out there! BRAVO!!
