Guest guest
& Larry, Glad you had a good meeting at the Cheesecake Factory. Sounds like a good time was had by all. you remind me that I go to prepare tomorrow for colonoscopy on Thursday, I'm expecting a clean bill of health also, but a bit of blood in thesmear samples indicated a more though check was advised. (I know of other PSC transplant patients who had UC show up 2 years after tx, I would rather avoid it). Guest guest
, It was wonderful meeting your and your family as well. I was so glad we were able to get together. I want to try and meet as many in the group as possible. It is always good putting a face with the name and sharing more information. It was good chance to talk in person with someone who has a lot of knowledge about the procedures and about PSC. Since I still don't have most of the symptoms, I try to learn as much as I can about the disease so I know what to expect and hopefully I can help someone else along the way. I am so glad to hear that you don't have the UC. That was great news. I know what you mean about the prep for the procedure. IT IS AWFUL!!!! I would rather be whipped than drink that liquid. I do hope and pray that the biopsy comes back neg. As far as supplements go, I take glucosamaine/chondroitin for joint pain. Joint pain is a part of UC. The supplement really helps me. I take flax seed oil for the anti-inflammatory properties. I have only been on it about a month now. I think that is the reason I was able to go to every other day on the Prednisone. So far so good. I also started taking L-Lysine. Lysine is an important amino acid and is a necessary building block for all protein. The older you get the less the body produces. I also take vitamin E, garlic, calcium and milk thistle but only on an occasional basis. I take it for a week about once a month. Well, I think that is enough for now. It is early and I have to go to work. Hope you have a great day. Larry
Guest guest
Oh, Tim, I sympathize with you about the colonoscopy. Good luck with the prep. It's certainly worse than the procedure. And I hope there's no major problem. Keep us posted. Romlein wrote: > & Larry, > Glad you had a good meeting at the Cheesecake Factory. Guest guest
Good news from the colonoscopy - nothing observed but a few small hemorrhoids, and the prep wasn't too bad. Not that I'd want to sit down to a gallon every night, but I've had worse stuff for upper GI and CAT/MRI scans. I particularly didn't like one chalky viscous orange flavored concoction I had once. I was totally out so don't remember anything other than going into the room and waking up in recovery - don't even remember getting dressed or much of the ride home. My wife must have been in a hurry to get us out of there <G>. Tim denise wrote: > Oh, Tim, > I sympathize with you about the colonoscopy. Good luck with the prep. Guest guest
Tim, I had the hermorrhoids, too. I was awake for the procedure this time. I watched what the doc did on video. It was good to see what he saw while he was telling me what it meant. But, I don't want to do it again anytime soon. Your news was great! Maybe neither of us will have to deal with it again for a while. Next week it's down to the Boston " Club Med " (as Penny says, without the Pina Coladas and sandy beaches) for another ERCP on Wednesday. Hopefully, though, after this next one I'll be done for another month. These ERCP's are coming TOO close together these days, that's for sure. My HMO approves six at a time now. Guest guest
Phil had hemroids also and they decided to band them and remove them. He had to go back 3 or 4 times. That was real enjoyable. He also had a pollup (benign) but his colon is looking the best it has in years. Boy is that is always good news. Have you had UC problems before? You guys have enough problems with the PSC you don't need to contend with the UC acting up too.
