Guest guest
Thank you Alli; I'm finding out that this condition is very serious and can cause one to become hospilitized and in ICU as my doctor said, if you don't take the med's or the dosage is not correct for my body. The right measure of med's must be meet to stay on your feet. My Endo doctors said it Doe's effect the bones and will give you several problems. I already have Osteoporosis in my arm and it is very bad in my right hip in the joint. I also have Osteoarthritis in my hips which is painful . Now the osteoporosis doe's not give one pain it makes the bones brittle, but the osteoarthritis doe's give me pain. My Endo doctors spend a lot of time with me explaining this, and I have a good Rheumatologist that has treated me for 4 years now sence I got Stills . I had 2 Endo Doctors with me the other day and they both encouraged me to Nuke it and take med's. Now the fact that I have Stills did make a cridical impact on my doctors advice to have the Thyrid killed by Nuclear treatment as in like just Zapping it and it will not function anymore, it is just dead and will not produce any hormones at all. This is all my understanding at this time. Sence I came down with Stills like many others I have came down with many other conditions as well. Just seems like the body is falling apart. I have a long list of illness that I have got sence Stills entered my life. Thank you again Alli and May God be with you and us all. God Bless   please don't trim Alli's post as I'm BBC to others, Thanks ........... ----- Forwarded Message ----- > >To: Stillsdisease >Sent: Saturday, November 19, 2011 7:13 AM >Subject: RE: Thyroid > > > >Hi , > >My Sister had to have her Thyroid removed, she didn’t have a choice because of the size of the nodule (it was visible, the size of a tennis ball). Anyway, she has been on Thyroid meds for years now. From her experience, it takes months and months to get to the right dosage and then you still have the blood test every three months. She has had times through the years where she also has had crashes when her body has changed and the ‘right dosage’ is no longer the ‘right dosage’ and goes through months of finding the correct dosage again. > >I have hypothyroidism myself and am on Thyroid meds myself. I also get it tested every 2-3 months. I was a total mess before I started it. For me, it has helped me dramatically. I can tell when the dose is not correct. > >The reason it is so hard to determine the right dose is because it is one of the medicine that has so many doses, even more than prednisone. It comes in micro-grams, and there are so many doses of it available that they are trying to find the one that is perfect for your needs and everyone is so different. > >You have a hard decision to make. I trust you will make the best on for you. Does taking thyroid meds have a negative impact on the bones? My Rheumy and Endocrinologist have me take Vit D 5000 daily with the thyroid meds, I wonder if that counter acts negative impacts? > >Hugs, Alli > > > > > > >
