I want to try to duplicate, or come close to, a topical facial

product that contains propylene glycol. I've read about ( " the most

common moisture-carrying vehicle other than water in cosmetics, with

better permeation through the skin than glycerin), and I've found

where to buy it. But that's all I know about it, and I don't know

how to use it. It is way down on the list of ingredients, just

before various preservatives. I wonder if glycerin would work as

well since apparently it is not used in a very high concentration.

Three very popular preservatives contain propylene glycol as a solvent.

Germaben II (INCI name: Propylene Glycol (and) olidinyl Urea (and)

Methylparaben (and) Propylparaben)

Germaben II-E (INCI name: Propylene Glycol (and) olidinyl Urea (and)

Methylparaben (and) Propylparaben)

Liquid Germall Plus (INCI name: Propylene Glycol (and) olidinyl Urea (and)

Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate)

Could that be the source?

If not, you can use glycerin.
