Leon,I would worry about what you are able to do each day as it comes. I used to

feel so bad when I was very sick so I would make a list of harder things and

very simple things. I felt good when I could cross something off my list but

some days I could not. I thinks its very hard to give ourselfs permission to be

sick. Just remember if you weren't sick you would be working and when you do

feel better you do what you can to stay more active. But, give yourself the time

to heal when your feeling so bad that you just need to rest and feel

better.Smiles for your days, melly

for those that cannot work, do you feel like I do like you have to show that

you've completed a household chore each day. I love my wife and she supports my

feelings and understands my illness, but I feel I must impress her that I did

some of the laundry or household chores

I normally do not post " To all " but found this an interesting topic to respond

to.  After working steady for 40 years (being the bread-winner in the family) I

was hit with Still's in 2009 at age of 60.  I was in the hospital a week and

home on short term disability 3 months. During that time I felt like I let

husband down since I was not bringing in an income nor was I

cooking/cleaning running errands to dry cleaner, etc.

Even today 2 years later I still cannot do all that I did.  A marriage is a

partnership which at times is 50/50 and others it is 90/10.... remember the oath

..... for better or worse/sickness or health.  It seems that she has so

relax...do not stress yourself.

Just remember to thank her in the little ways for her support - surf the web -

find a poem that says what you feel and put it on her dinner plate when she

comes home.  Those little things mean alot no matter how long you've been

married.  So what if the table has dust on it - remove it and it only comes back

a week later.  So skip a week and then dust or do just item a day vice the

entire room.

Just because you are not on someones payrole does not mean that you " do not

work " .

Whether some of us are able to pull in a paycheck or not - we all work on a

daily basis just trying to find positive things in our lives and trying to avoid

the " pitty party " .

Leon,I know exactly what you are saying, even though I am the wife!I am alone

from Monday a.m. til Friday afternoon,I feel like I have to accomplish something

so that my husband is proud of me for trying! He actually gets upset though

because he wants me to rest and not over do things and feel lousy when he is

here!I usually wait until Thursday and then vacuum and dust, but I have to rest

often while doing even thoughs things,it's just a lost cause,so if I wait, we

can do things together, which is soooo much easier.I feel guilty if I wait, but

that is just me.

He would much rather I wait. love Elly

Yes; I feel like I must take a mental inventory of what I accomplished in late

afternoon to see if I earned the right to rest and set still. I tell myself ,

well I did this and that, and that is enough so I am done for the day. I think

this way of thinking is really healthy if one can do a few chores a day so we

feel like we have accomplished something today and did not just set and be

bored. We than can say; well; I will do that the next day, I have already done

enough for today.

Thanks Leon for the point you made.
