Guest guest
Hello! I am new to this kind of craft, but have experience in many things from ceramics (pottery) to cooking... and everything " traditionally female " for centuries, with the exception of soap and toiletry making. Approaching " Cronedom " brings me to these other leisurely interests. That and the need for good products personally. I have an extreme interest in making my own toiletries for personal use. My family and I have special needs for our " freaky fuzzy hair " that has been nothing less than a nightmare in trying products on the market over the years. I have researched and found great info that I will be experimenting with quite soon. I will report, if you wish, what my results are. Any information that can be shared is very welcome as research is never ending! I was told about this group from member on another Yahoo group. Your group was highly recommended for the information I seek. My main interest today is learning more about making actual cosmetics... (aka makeup) specifically eyeshadow and other powder-type makeups. I do welcome, however, information on liquid makeup, lipcolor/stains and mascara types. I have seen and read much about the " new " mineral makeup that is available in a few areas. In my recent research, I have been unable to find any formulations or recipes for any makeup, let alone the mineral makeup. Is is because the formulations for makeups are so simple or because of the complexity and/or toxicity? I thought about just purchasing several " eye safe " minerals and such and just start playing, but I may be heading in the wrong direction... I would like to make loose and pressed powders... I know the formulations would have to vary somewhat for each. Actually, I kind of thought makeup formulation would be like soap formulation... able to vary ingredients having the ability to substitute this or that... I would also like to find out more about ancient types of makeup and the ingredients used. If there is any historians here, it would be an incredible bonus If anyone can enlighten me, pass on recipes for formulations, suggest readings or books, anything, please feel free to do so off list if it is not allowed to be posted. I do hope I am not intruding with these inquiries. If so, please let me know. I apologize in advance if so. Thank you very much. I look forward to learning here on this list.
