Guest guest
Help, I am fairly new to the industry and am trying to make a goat milk lotion, but am being unsuccesful in preserving the goat milk. I have tried Germaben II, but still molds. I read ingredients on a bottle at our local co-op, it listed goats milk as first ingredient and several oils and butters, but no preservative. I know there has to be a preservative in it somewhere. I guess I jist need a good safe recipe if someone has one. THANKS
Guest guest
Danny, I'm sure I can help you, but today is a difficult day. My oldest and most cherished goat is dying (old age) in the barn so I'm not going to be near the computer again until much later (the vet is due out at 2:30 to put her down if she is still with us). Grand Champion Finch-Farm Kalypso's Dream is on her way to the Rainbow Bridge and she'll be sorely missed. If you will write to me privately (jenwelch@...) I'll try to help later. THANKS Danny, take heart, has a doozy--I've been making it for a couple of years, with nary a mold spot. I'll let her post it when she can, but basically the preservatives are phenonip and EDTA. (I've only used phenonip, but will add EDTA to the next batch). So hang in there, help is on the way! Coral Jen, sorry about your goat- Losing pets is painful, they become such an important part of our lives. Take care and give yourself the gift of time to grieve.
