I so ROTFL at this because I do the same thing. I get so distracted that I randomly burst out without intendeing to and it's even funnier because you were so concerned about the sound that it was the visual trigger (or so it seems to me) that snuck up and zapped you.

It helps to be able to laugh at ourselves. 4s gets so serious b/c of all its negatives. It's good to be able to laugh....whoops, don't laugh out loud though.

Can you imagine if we all got together in a room? Now That would be hysterical. We would be the only convention with nobody talking to anybody, we'd all have our headphones on, occupying ourselves with our various coping mechanisms.

Ok. So 4s is really painful. For example one weekend I'm at my MIL's with my husband, his brother and his brothers wife and our kids.My darling husband has an unpeeled banana in his hand which he's getting ready to eat.Only he's talking and talking and talking and kind of balancing that stupid banana between two fingers.I'm really dreading him eating the thing thinking I'm going to have to leave the room when he does. So I'm waiting and dreading and waiting and dreading until I finally shout "Stop dangling that stupid banana in my face !" (in front of brother and sister in law). But now when I think about it, it makes me grin.

I often wonder about that, how two 4S's would do together? I think we've learned to be so quiet and understanding we might be ok and we could complain and not piss off the other person, but then again...I have another non sound one that drives me crazy, when people put food in there hand and shake it, like jelly beans or blueberries or popcorn etc and then after shaking it for a while pop it in their mouth. I wonder if it's like that blasted banana? Do I hate it because I'm being teased by what's about to happen? Or is it that my neat freakness comes out and I'm afraid blueberry juice is going to go all over my carpet? hahahaha.I so ROTFL at this because I do the same thing. In answer to your first question about two 4sers being together, its actually not bad at all. My partner and I both suffer this condition so we accommodate each other quite well, we understand each other and can talk openly about it. In some forms its an advantage but in many many ways its not and if I could talk it all away from her and have it on my own shoulders I would.
