Guest guest
I do this sometimes as I did today. With good friends, we ate at a restaurant which had bad acoustics. The music was too loud and it was staticy and all you could hear was a scratchy treble-like rhythm beat and an unidentifiable noise that was the melody. I stepped inside and walked out to let myself be in there as little time as possible. When it was time to sit with friends, I stuffed it, beat my foot with the beat (which helps cope) and coped. No one would have known that the noise bothered me. I stuffed and coped so well that I forgot about it all together. I am home now and although I was " off " a little with my friends, it wasn't until now that I am home I realize I am tight and irritable in general. Coping and stuffing has it's price. I write this just to add my experience and to remind us that when this happens, we must be aware and soothe our tangled nerves.
